A Slovenian Sunday: Exploring Heritage, Home and Country Life with Karen Flisek Lehr
REGISTRATION FOR THIS WEBINAR WILL OPEN SOON.
In this webinar, SGSI member Karen Flisek Lehr shares photos and stories from her May 2026 trip to Slovenia. In addition to her pre-trip extension to one ancestral village in the Julian Alps, Karen will take us 25 miles east of Ljubljana to the rural home of another cousin she first met 10 years ago, offering a glimpse into their daily lives and self-sufficiency. Plus, find out what her Slovenian family was most curious to know about life in America!
During the webinar, members will also learn about the SGSI's Genealogy Tours to Slovenia in May and September 2027.
Karen Flisek Lehr is 100% Slovenian, with all four grandparents having roots in Slovenia. She is active in researching her family's genealogy and has documented her findings, stories and photos in four family books. Karen is retired and lives with her husband near Washington, DC.
