Curious about artificial intelligence but unsure how it can help with your family history research? Already experimenting with AI but wondering whether you're getting reliable results?

Join professional genealogist and national speaker Lori Samuelson for an engaging, three-hour virtual workshop designed to take the mystery out of artificial intelligence and put its capabilities to work for genealogists.

Participants will explore how AI can assist with genealogical research, develop effective prompts, analyze historical information, organize findings, and approach challenging research questions. Special attention will be given to recognizing AI's limitations, identifying inaccurate responses, and verifying information against reliable sources.

Whether you're researching your European ancestors, tracing their migration to America, or tackling a stubborn family history mystery, you'll discover practical techniques to make your research more efficient and productive.

This is an interactive workshop, not simply a lecture! Participants will work directly with AI tools on their own computers, following guided exercises and experimenting with techniques they can apply to their research.

Who should attend? Genealogists of all experience levels, including those who have never used AI.

What you'll need: A computer with a reliable internet connection and the ability to participate in an online meeting. Prior to the meeting you will need to create a free AI account at Gemini and either ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity. If you have a paid account with any one of the four you do not need to also create a free 2nd account. Additional instructions will be provided before the workshop.
